Guide for Authors

  • There is no restrictions on the length of manuscripts, provided that the text is comprehensive. The details of the experiments should be clear so that the results can be reproduced.
  • Manuscripts published in the Journal of the Egyptian Society of Tribologyshould neither been published before in another journal.
  • Journal of the Egyptian Society of Tribologyaccepts original research manuscripts if they provides new valuable information.
  • Manuscripts for Journal of the Egyptian Society of Tribologyshould be submitted online at https://jest.journals.ekb.eg/
  • The corresponding author is responsible for the manuscript during the submission.
  • Authors must use the Microsoft Word template  to prepare their manuscript.
  • A cover letter should be sent with the manuscript submission.

THE ACCEPTABLE FORM FOR THE PAPER

El-Sherbiny Y. M.*, Ali W. Y.**

*National Research Center, Dokki, Giza, EGYPT.

*Faculty of Engineering, Minia University, P. N. 61111, El-Minia, EGYPT.

ABSTRACT

The paper should start with an abstract of approximately 150 words, summarizing the objective, contents, results, and conclusions as specifically as possible.

KEYWORDS

The abstract must be followed by 5-10 keywords related to the main topics of the paper.

SUBMISSION OF REPORT

Your paper including figures, tables, and references should be written in English. Please mail the original camera-ready and three complete copies of your manuscript to the Conference General Secretary. Fax submission of the manuscript is unacceptable. The additional copies will be used for refereeing purpose. In addition, please send normal size originals of all figures and an extra print of any photographs for use to publish in the international volume. Please use a sufficiently stiff envelope so that your manuscripts will not bend or distort by mail.

Each completed manuscript including the figures and tables should not exceed ten(10) A4 pages in a single-spaced text.

FORMAT AND TYPING INSTRUCTIONS

Please use good quality A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm) white paper. On each page, leave margins as follows: 30 mm on left, 30 mm on right, 30 mm on top (50 mm for title page), and 30 mm on bottom sides.

Fill pages as completely as possible. However, avoid having the last line of a paragraph as the first line of a page. Instead, move the next two lines to the top of the next page. Also avoid making the first line of a paragraph or a section/subsection heading as the last line of a page. Article title, authors' names, and headings should be treated as shown above. Subheadings should be small bold letters with initial capital letters for all the main words and placed flush to the left-hand margin.

When typing complicated mathematical text it is important to increase the space between text lines in order to prevent sub/superscript fonts overlapping one another and making your printed matter illegible. Equations should be numbered in parentheses flush to the right-hand border of the frame, without dots leading to the numbers, and leaving a single line space clear above and below the equation.

If you are using a desktop publishing program ensure that your "auto adjust" for interline spacing is suitably set to prevent overlapping but without leaving too much space.

The present instructions have been produced using a 12 point New Century Schoolbook ( 14 point for Article title). Other recommended fonts are 12 point Times New Roman. The most suitable printer is a laser/jet.

Figures, Tables and Illustrations

When referred to Figures and Tables in the text, they should appear as Fig. 1, Table 3. Figure captions should appear below the figure in small letters and should be centered, as shown in the following:

Fig. 3. Schematic of the setup.

Table headings should appear centered above the table, using bold fonts with one hue space between heading and previous text, and between heading and table, e.g.,

Table 2. Chemical composition

Original of illustrations should be carefully pasted at their proper location in the text. Suitable line thickness and the appropriate size of lettering are required to be clearly legible, when the illustration is reduced to final size. Photographs (only in black and white) should be included when it is absolutely essential. They should be printed on glossy high contrast paper, cut to rectangular form removing margins and superfluous background and pasted in place.

Authors are asked to provide a graphical abstract. SI Units (International System of Units) should be used. Imperial, US customary and other units should be converted to SI units whenever possible. The Microsoft Equation Editor should be used for Equations.

REFERENCES

All references within the text should be numbered consecutively, with the number in square brackets, e.g. previous results [6 - 13] indicate.  References should be grouped together at the end of the paper, after the Acknowledgment, if any, in numerical order, last names first in capital. Examples:

1. El-Shazly M., “Symbolic Computation of Robot Models for Geometric Partameters Identification with Singularity Analysis 9”, Journal of Intelligent and Robotic systems, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Vol. 16, pp. 103 - 121, (1996).

2. Soderstrom T., and Stoca P., “System Indentification”, Prentice Hall, London, (1989).

NOMENCLATURE

If the paper contains many symbols, a nomenclature must be included after the references.
