Peer Review Process

 

The received manuscripts will be checked to determine that they follow scope of the Journal of the Egyptian Society of Tribology. Manuscripts that do not suit the scope of the journal or do not fit the standards of the journal will be rejected before the peer-review process. Manuscripts that are partially prepared, will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission.

Then the manuscript will be assigned to two reviewers who are experts in the field of the manuscript for blind review. The Peer review comments are confidential. Reviewers should not have published with any of the co-authors and should not presently work or collaborate with any of the institutions of the co-authors of the submitted manuscript.

The manuscripts, reviews, and communications published in Egtrib journals go through the peer-review process. The decision of the editor will be communicated as one of the following:

  • Accept in the present formAccept after Minor Revisions.
  • Accept after Major Revisions. Where the acceptance of the manuscript would depend on the revisions. The authors will be asked to resubmit the revised paper within one month, and the revised version will be returned to the reviewer for further comments.
  • Reject and Encourage Resubmission. The authors will be asked to re-submit the paper once further experiments have been conducted.
  • Reject. The manuscript gives no original significant contribution.
